This poster originate in 1969 where there it is a period of the Great Cultural Revolution as started by the Great Poleteriat Chairman Mao. The girl in the poster is writing her comments and thinking after reading a book Titled " Great Chairman Mao Role Model - Lei Feng" Lei Feng is a soldier from the People's Liberation Army and was bombed to death in a railway track (Official Version). His courage in saving his fellow soldier won the praise of chairman mao who asked people to emulate him. Actually, Lei Feng did not die by a bomb but due to a silly accident that happened when one of the other soldiers in his platoon reversed the truck into a telegraph pole. The pole broke and fell on Lei Feng. Apprently he lived for a few hours more but later died of his injuries. An old girlfriend of Lei Feng (who was too busy with his good deeds to take much notice of the girl) was interviewed many many years later and told the true, but no so politically interesting, story on CCT4 in the '90's if I remember correctly. Lei Feng more or less disapeared from public but a slight revival is seen over the last few years now more and more people in China Mainland are geting concerned about the coldness between people.
